Christian Barata Nugroho or commonly known by his stage name Polo is a comedian from the legendary comedy group Srimulat. Polo started his career in a group founded by Teguh Slamet Raharjo in 1950 under the name Srimulat.
Together with Srimulat, the man born on March 20, 1952 continued his career as a comedian on various television channels. Polo made his television debut in 1986 with the comedy group Srimulat.
Polo was imprisoned twice for drug possession. In 2000, Polo was arrested by the police and sentenced to 7 months in prison for drug possession. 4 years later, in 2004, Polo was arrested again in the same case.
In addition to being a comedian, Polo also found time to expand his career in the world of theater. In 2011, he was an actor in the film Kejarlah Jodoh Kau Kutangkap. The following year, in 2012, Polo returned to appear in the film Mystery of Pasar Kaget.
Not only involved in the world of cinema, Polo continued to act in several soap operas. He started with soap operas in 1996 in the soap opera Gara-Gara. After a long period, he resumed his role in the soap opera Jodoh Wasiat Bapak in 2018. The last soap opera in which he acted was called Troisième personne in 2019.
In 2020, Polo had to be treated in intensive care due to a lung disease. His friends took the initiative to jointly pay for his treatment. Polo improved in 2021 and began to resume his activities.
Unfortunately, fate decided otherwise, at precisely 12:10 WIB, Wednesday (6/3/2024), Polo was declared dead in a private hospital in Bekasi. Polo passed away after 4 years of battling the illness.
