Taxes still too high

“Gérald Fillion from Radio-Canada has a theory that is far from uninteresting. He says, did we create this huge deficit to give ourselves the power to reduce spending in the eyes of public opinion? Because there are efforts to be made.”

Judge Delisle will plead guilty

“The question is simple: what is he pleading guilty to and why does he decide to plead guilty?” Paul Arcand wonders.

“Obviously, he has the means to file multiple requests, to pay the best lawyers. And we know that justice is unequal. Resources are not the same for everyone. In his case, there was the money to do that,” he adds.

Increase in hate crimes

“With the current war between Hamas and Israel, anti-Semitism is rearing its head again, unfortunately in many demonstrations and in public spaces. And the hate towards others that is also expressed on social media is omnipresent.”

Disappearance of adolescents: an 11-year-old child from the DPJ in a cell

“Children have the right to be protected. There need to be safeguards in place in a system, which is not currently the case. It’s easier to medicate a child, to lock them up than to try to guide them and take them further.”

Isolated from her friends during lunch for an unpaid bill

“I understand that parents are furious. I know that the bill has been paid and settled. It was a misunderstanding. Regardless. But should we hold children accountable for parental negligence? I find it absurd. At the school service center, they tell us that it is not the recommended practice. I hope so.”

Dirdy D bar at 10-30 has its alcohol license suspended for 7 days

“The police have intervened 50 times in recent years for cases of fights and sexual assault. It involves the staff and the clientele.”

Cinema Guzzo threatened with eviction at Marché Central

“We want the power to evict them. It’s a business relationship that has completely disintegrated.”

The Federal Court wants to compel Pornhub executives to testify

“The company refuses, saying that it is not responsible for what people post. Pornhub is in a marketing operation to prove that they are able to remove all pornographic material from the site.”

Coroner’s inquest into the death of police officer Maureen Breault

“It’s incredible to see how, when you are a frontline police officer, you do not have access to essential information to know who you are dealing with. And this is in the name of medical secrecy protection, in the name of bureaucracy.”
