Apple prévoit d’équiper les anciens iPhone 13, iPhone 14 et iPhone SE du nouveau port USB-C.

Apple has decided to equip the older iPhone 13, iPhone 14, and iPhone SE with the new USB-C port.

The arrival of the new USB-C port has given some ideas to the Apple brand. Indeed, Apple has reportedly decided to equip older iPhone models with a USB-C port. In concrete terms, the iPhone 15 range would not be the only one to incorporate this novelty.

During the latest tvOS update, some enthusiasts noticed unknown references to different iPhones. According to the leaker @aaronp613, the Cupertino company could take advantage of the implementation of the European law to completely standardize its range.

Specifically, here are all the iPhones that would have the new USB-C port:

  • iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max
  • iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus
  • iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini
  • iPhone SE 3

This means that the 14 Pro range (14 Pro and Pro Max) would not be affected by this new USB-C charging port. But what is striking is the presence of the iPhone 13 mini in this list. Will this format get a new chance with the arrival of the new port? Nothing is certain!

A new port and that’s it!

These “older” models will have no other novelty. Do not expect a new chip or any adjustments. The iPhone SE 3, iPhone 13, and iPhone 14 already incorporate an A15 chip, so they will have no trouble running the latest iOS update.

As for the new iPhones, Apple is expected to announce its keynote on September 12, 2023. Pre-orders would start on September 15, 2023, and the first devices would be delivered starting from September 22, 2023.
