The coach of OM quits, Longoria speaks out

Appointed as the coach of OM this summer, Marcelino ended up leaving after only a few weeks. Indeed, the Spaniard decided to quit, considering that the conditions were no longer favorable to continue in Marseille. As Gennaro Gattuso has since arrived at OM, Pablo Longoria had a few words about Marcelino’s departure.
Heavily criticized by fans regarding the style of play of his team, Marcelino is no longer the coach of OM today. In fact, due to threats made against the club’s management, the Spaniard has left, thus making way for Gennaro Gattuso, the new coach of OM.

During the presentation of Gennaro Gattuso, Pablo Longoria was asked about Marcelino’s departure. “I would like to thank him for his work for OM,” said the president of OM before raising his voice. “This is not due to a normal sporting situation, but to unacceptable circumstances. It is a consequence of this type of situation that I consider to be unacceptable.”

Pablo Longoria added: “He made this decision because he was working in a situation where the threat could be repeated, and no coach or manager can work in such a situation. We must build and operate like a normal club.”
