Among the luxurious gifts that the nominees and presenters of the 96thth Oscar ceremony will receive is an extremely rare sugar, sagar, made in Quebec.
Margot Robbie, Bradley Cooper, Lily Gladstone, Robert Downey Jr., Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, to name a few, will have the opportunity to taste the locally made sagar.
This “immaculate forest sugar” obtained from maple sap is part of a “luxurious experience,” according to the description by Distinctive Assets, the California company responsible for the Oscars gift basket tradition.
The sagar, offered by the Quebec company Orion Suppliers founded in part by Samuel Busque, the guitarist of the group Noir Silence, will be presented for the first time in the world on March 16 at the Château Frontenac in Quebec, during the “Sagar Experience” event, overseen by Chef Patrick Bouilly.
An Avalanche of Opulence
Among the most expensive perks are stays at beach resorts reserved for the wealthiest people on the planet. A full week in one of the Chalet Zermatt Peak residences is offered, where a night can cost up to… $101,000, and the stars can choose the chalet that suits them best.
The second stay is a seven-day retreat at Golden Door, a wellness retreat in San Marcos, California. The program includes massages, hikes along private trails, personal trainers, and five-star meals. The price? $11,950.
