The M6 group announced on Friday, September 22, the opening of an internal investigation regarding its flagship presenter Stéphane Plaza, following accusations of violence from three of his ex-partners. “An internal investigation has been opened following the article by Mediapart in order to address certain points that may not have been addressed,” said a group representative. “It’s a classic HR procedure,” he added, without further comment.

In its investigation, the news website Mediapart, citing the testimonies of three of the presenter’s ex-partners, explains that it has “gathered numerous elements and accounts testifying to mistreatment inflicted by the real estate agent popularized by M6 on three of his partners: humiliations, threats, verbal and, for two of them, physical violence”.

The presenter himself has formally denied these accusations. His lawyers denounce “defamatory and insulting accusations”. They believe that “Mediapart has acted as a relay for three women who undermine the dignity” of Stéphane Plaza, and who “are the subject of a criminal complaint he has filed” for harassment and cyberbullying.
