Atalanta Bergamo dominated Sassuolo 3-1 in the round of 16 of the Italian Cup on Wednesday and will challenge AC Milan in the next round, while Rome, which eliminated Cremonese (2-1), will face Lazio in a new Roman derby.
Charles De Ketelaere, on loan to Atalanta from Milan, scored the first two goals for “Dea” (24th and 63rd minutes). The Belgian forward then provided the decisive assist for the 3rd goal scored by Russian Aleksei Miranchuk (71st). Sassuolo saved face in injury time on the last action of the match.

In the quarterfinals on 10th January, Atalanta will travel to San Siro to face AC Milan, who overcame Cagliari 4-1 on Tuesday and, trailing in the championship and eliminated from the Champions League, hope to console themselves with the Coppa Italia.
Roma, which won against Cremonese while trailing, thanks to goals from Lukaku (77th) and Dybala (penalty 85th), will meet Lazio on the same day for a derby that promises to be heated.
Inter Milan, the double defending champion and leader of the championship, was eliminated at the end of December by Bologna (2-1 a.e.t.), as was Napoli, humiliated at home by Frosinone (4-0).
The last ticket to the quarterfinals will be played on Thursday between Juventus and Salernitana (9 p.m.).
