GMC Hummer EarthCruiser : un camping-car électrique tout-terrain impressionnant

GMC Hummer EarthCruiser

Specialist in adventure camping vehicles, American company EarthCruiser enters the electric era with an imposing creation based on the GMC Hummer pickup truck.

At first glance, this Hummer might seem to have simply equipped itself with a rooftop tent. But coming from EarthCruiser, a great American specialist in camping vehicles, off-road vans, and pickup truck camper cabins, we can expect more than that.

The camper cabin, made of carbon fiber, which integrates with the GMC Hummer pickup truck, has a pop-up roof that allows for a height of 2 meters inside. In the area corresponding to the rear bed, there is a living space with a sink, table, fridge, and induction cooktop. The 13.5-gallon (51-liter) water tank is accessible through the sink, as well as with interior and exterior showers. To top it off, the water can be heated. The upper part of the cabin also houses a bed with storage, and additional storage spaces are installed outside. All functions will be controlled by a touchscreen on board.

All of this, of course, operates on electricity, but with no connection to the main battery of the vehicle. EarthCruiser’s conversion is equipped with its own 6 kWh (12 volts) battery and 605 W of solar panels. According to the manufacturer, this is enough to go on a week-long trip without any electrical connection. Of course, during this period, the monster that is the Hummer should not be moved much. With its high consumption, it is unlikely to last a week.

EarthCruiser’s first electric creation will probably not be the last. Other electric pickups in the American market certainly offer a promising market in the future.
