The Rapperswil-Jona Lakers defender David Aebischer will be moving to Lugano next season. The 23-year-old native of Fribourg has signed a five-year contract with the Tessin club.
The Singinois is currently in his third season with the Lakers. This player, who came up through the Fribourg-Gottéron junior program, also has experience in North America, having spent two seasons with the Gatineau Olympiques in the QMJHL. Upon his return, he played one season with Ajoie and celebrated a promotion to the National League with the Jurassians.
Aebischer was called up to the Swiss national team for the World Championship preparation matches this spring.
