The iPhone 15, expected in September, is at the center of many rumors on the web. This time, it is Mark Gurman who discusses the upcoming iPhones, the iPhone 15.

LIPO-OLED displays

The main feature of these new models would be the use of LIPO-OLED displays. LIPO is a Low-pressure Injection and Over-molding process aimed at reducing the size of the screen bezels to 1.5 millimeters compared to 2.2 millimeters on current models.

This is not the first time that thin bezels have been mentioned for the iPhone 15. Ice Universe had already revealed a photo of the alleged iPhone 15 screen. In particular, the iPhone 15 Pro Max would have the thinnest bezels ever seen on a smartphone, marking a significant advancement in design.

Repairability also for the Pro models

The Pro models of the iPhone 15 could inherit the repairability advancements of the iPhone 14, allowing the smartphones to be opened from both the front and the back. This modification would make repairs much easier, especially the replacement of the back cover.

The iPhone 15 Pro would feature a titanium frame, better rear cameras, and a longer focal length telephoto lens on the Pro Max. In addition, the Apple A17 Bionic and the new multifunction button will be exclusive to the Pro models.

All four models of the iPhone 15 series will abandon the Lightning port for a USB-C port, and the base models will be upgraded to the Apple A16 Bionic of the iPhone 14 Pro.

An expected price increase

Mark Gurman states that the prices of the four models will see an increase worldwide, except for the base models in the United States. Inflation seems to be the reason behind this rise.

In addition to the iPhones, Apple is also expected to launch new watches in September, including an Apple Watch Series 9 and an Apple Watch Ultra 2. The major change resides in the Apple S9 ARM-SiP, which would improve the performance of the Apple Watch for the first time since the launch of the Apple S6 chip in 2020.
