NU.nl vous donne régulièrement un aperçu de la situation en Ukraine. Cette fois : les soldats ukrainiens sont entrés vendredi dans la ville stratégique de Kherson comme prévu. Selon le président Zelensky, l’Ukraine a repris le contrôle de la ville. Le groupe russe Wagner dit qu’il forme des citoyens russes à protéger la frontière avec l’Ukraine.
“L’Ukraine remporte maintenant une autre victoire majeure et prouve que quoi que la Russie dise ou fasse, l’Ukraine gagnera”, a tweeté le ministre des Affaires étrangères Dmytro Kuleba à propos de la reprise de Kherson. Zelensky parle d’une journée historique. “Nous reviendrons à Kherson”, a-t-il écrit sur Telegram.
Kuleba a posté une vidéo sur Twitter dans laquelle il dit que les habitants de la ville de Bilozerka, à quelques kilomètres de Kherson, ont déchiré une affiche géante qui disait “La Russie est là pour toujours”. Des vidéos d’Ukrainiens chantant et faisant la fête sur la place principale de Kherson circulent sur les réseaux sociaux. Zelensky a partagé des images de soldats semblant se rassembler avec les habitants de la ville.
La capture de la ville stratégiquement importante signifie que l’Ukraine peut bombarder les positions russes à travers le large fleuve de Kherson. Le seul pont de la région s’est effondré. Selon les blogueurs de guerre russes, l’armée russe en retraite en est probablement responsable.
Troisième retraite depuis septembre
La retraite est la troisième depuis le début de l’invasion le 24 février. La Russie a renoncé à une offensive dans la région de Kyiv au printemps. En septembre, après des revers militaires dans le nord-est, il a abandonné la quasi-totalité de la région de Kharkiv.
Selon le ministère de la Défense à Moscou, aucune perte n’a été subie lors du retrait. L’Ukraine déclare que l’opération a été très chaotique et que de nombreux Russes se sont noyés. Des soldats russes, en civil ou non, seraient également restés dans la ville. L’armée ukrainienne leur a demandé de se rendre.

Le groupe russe Wagner dit de former des milices dans la région frontalière
Le groupe russe Wagner dit former des civils dans les régions frontalières de l’Ukraine. Selon le fondateur de l’organisation paramilitaire, Yevgeny Prigozhin, ils forment de nouvelles milices et construisent des fortifications pour garder la frontière.
“Wagner aidera la population des régions frontalières à construire des infrastructures, à former et à organiser une milice.” Prigozhin affirme que de grands groupes de personnes sont déjà “prêts à défendre leur pays”.
Elle concernerait principalement les régions de Belgorod et de Koursk qui, selon Moscou, ont régulièrement été la cible de tirs ces derniers mois. Les Russes accusent l’armée ukrainienne d’attaquer les villes proches de la frontière avec Kharkiv.
Le groupe est accusé de crimes de guerre depuis 2014
Prigozhin a admis pour la première fois en septembre que Wagner était actif dans la guerre en Ukraine. Les mercenaires seraient là depuis 2014 et seraient accusés de crimes de guerre dans le bassin de Donetsk depuis des années par des groupes de défense des droits humains et le gouvernement ukrainien.
L’armée privée a déjà combattu en Afrique et en Amérique latine et serait également responsable de crimes de guerre en Syrie. Wagner a été accusé d’être une extension de l’État russe, mais le Kremlin le nie. Le groupe paramilitaire a ouvert un quartier général à Saint-Pétersbourg ce mois-ci.
