After a strike movement massively followed by SNCF controllers last weekend, the signalers quickly threatened a new mobilization for February 23 and 24. This is worrying for travelers, as this weekend is common to the three zones, with the departure of the zone B for holidays.
“Traffic will be normal”
They also demand an increase in recruitment and improvement of their working conditions. However, SNCF reassures on Tuesday about the importance of the upcoming movement and ensures that “at this stage, the traffic will be normal next weekend” without being able to give more details at this time. The Sud-Rail union, which issued the notice, did not respond to our requests.
“This notice follows our request for immediate consultation filed on January 19, which led to the consultation meeting held on January 22…” declared Sud-Rail in a statement on Sunday, addressing the direction of SNCF Réseau. “It turns out that no agreement could be reached on the various subjects we alerted you to”. The demands of the signalers are essentially the same as those of the controllers: “An increase in the operational circulation allowance of €300 per month”, “the implementation of massive recruitments” and “the implementation of less pathogenic shifts”.
On the social network X, Sud-Rail regretted on Tuesday that “there is still no negotiation in sight on the side of SNCF Réseau. In the next few hours, we need to increase the balance of power”.
