Châtel-Montagne. Soirée concertante in the church. In the magnificent 12th century Romanesque church, which was packed, Willy Bouche invited music lovers to a concert evening as part of the traditional Monts de la Madeleine festival, where “the concertos and symphonies concertantes by Mozart and Haydn are sure to delight.”
The eleven musicians then performed pieces by Mozart: Gabriel Fauré’s Concerto No. 3 for Horn with Pavane Opus 50 (which inspired Ravel’s Pavane pour une infante défunte); Antonio Vivaldi’s Concerto for Bassoon; and Michaël Haydn’s admirable Flute Concerto. It is worth noting the exceptional performances of the interpreters: Pierre-Alexis Toulememont (horn), Gérald Poretti (bassoon), and Liling Lee (clarinet), who skillfully combined virtuosity and sensitivity.
In the end, as usual, it was a well-deserved success, with classical music enthusiasts delighted by these privileged moments.
