Square Enix annonce la sortie de la mise à jour 6.4 de Final Fantasy XIV en ligne intitulée « The Dark Throne » le 23 mai prochain.

Square Enix has announced the release of the 6.4 update for Final Fantasy XIV Online, entitled “The Dark Throne”, on May 23.

The producer and director Naoki Yoshida revealed this date through a new trailer offering an overview of the upcoming update. Players will be able to start new epic quests and face a thousand dangers in a new dungeon and challenge, among other new features. Other novelties have also been unveiled: PvP updates for Crystal Conflict and The Front, improvements to Island Felicity with the new garden furniture function, as well as a preview of the upcoming special dungeons planned for the 6.45 update.

Here is a non-exhaustive list of the content of the 6.4 update:

  • New epic quests: a new epic chapter will be added to the main storyline.
  • New raid series – The Paradise of Pandæmonium: this epic arc will culminate in a timeless arduous struggle between human and divine.
  • New instanced dungeon – Haam Island: this new instance punctuated by obstacles will test the endurance of every Warrior of Light.
  • New challenge – The Exile’s Seat: on the crimson moon, adventurers will have to cross swords with General Golbez in this brand new normal and extreme difficulty challenge.
  • New unreal challenge: this new version of the encounter against Zurvan takes place in containment unit Z1P9 (unreal).
  • New side quests: the “Tataru’s Tarufacture” will certainly not have finished talking about itself.
  • Reinforcement system (update): the reinforcement system will be extended to part of the Stormblood™ epic instances: “The Sea of Song of the Sirens”, “The Strength of Bardam”, “Doma Castle”, “Castrum Abania” and “Ala Mhigo”. They can thus be completed with a team made up of allied NPCs.
  • Deep-sea fishing (update): high-seas fishing routes have been added to the delight of open-sea enthusiasts. The Ambition will now set sail for Muni and Ruby Sea.
  • Island Felicity (update): the development of this new little corner of paradise will continue with, among other things, the ability to install garden furniture, as well as the arrival of new development objectives, felicity ranks, planting seeds and animals to be raised.
  • PvP updates:
    • Crystal Conflict: season 4 of “Ranking Threshholds” and season 7 of “Crystalline Conflict” will begin with the 6.4 update.
    • The Front: adjustments will be made to the rules of the mission “Fields of Glory (Break the Ice)”. A new interface element will also be added to display the duration and results of the mission.
  • Other additions: the 6.4 update will introduce a series of novelties, including a new type of allagan memoquartz and improvements to the sales board. Players will also be able to display job icons in the log window and nameplate, and will be able to apply mirages to Scholar job fairies.

Naoki Yoshida also shared several elements from the 6.45 update, such as:

  • Blue Mage (update): this restricted job will have its maximum level increased to 80. Along with that, new spells, exclusive equipment, and of course, ever more formidable enemies to face in the Grand Masquerade arena.
  • New branching dungeon – Mount Rokkon: this instanced content is designed to be completed solo or as a team of up to 4 players, with a difficulty level adapted to the number of participants.
  • New alternative dungeon – Mount Rokkon: this type of high-difficulty 4-player team instance remains very similar to the branching dungeon, but with a predefined path. Alternative dungeons include two difficulty levels (normal and savage) with specific rules and features.
  • New side quests: the gentleman detective will continue his rocambolesque adventures in the eponymous “Hildibrand Returns” quest series.
  • New legendary weapon saga – Manderville Weapons: Godbert Manderville, the toughest goldsmith in Eorzea, will spare no elbow grease (and then some) to enhance the Manderville weapons, the legacy of his illustrious ancestor. After a few disputes with the blacksmith Gerolt, settled over… several drinks, the improvement processes can resume with renewed vigor!
  • New legendary tool saga – The Wonders Tools: the improvement of these incredible tools born of the unlikely collaboration between the Hall of the Just and the legendary blacksmith Grenoldt will continue to the delight of skilled artisans.
